1. Improves Soil Health
Enhances soil structure and texture.
Increases soil aeration and water-holding capacity.
Boosts microbial activity, leading to healthier soil ecosystems.
2. Provides Essential Nutrients
Supplies slow-release nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium) and
micronutrients.
Improves nutrient availability and uptake by plants.
3. Reduces Waste
Recycles organic waste that would otherwise go to landfills.
Lowers the environmental impact of waste disposal.
4. Eco-Friendly
Minimizes the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
Reduces pollution of soil and water resources.
5. Cost-Effective
Saves money on commercial fertilizers.
It can be produced locally using farm or kitchen waste.
6. Improves Crop Quality and Yield
Encourages stronger root development.
Enhances flavour, size, and shelf life of fruits and vegetables.
7. Suppresses Plant Diseases
Promotes beneficial microbes that outcompete harmful pathogens.
Enhances plant resistance to pests and diseases.
8. Helps Mitigate Climate Change
Sequesters carbon in the soil.
Reduces greenhouse gas emissions from synthetic fertilizer production and
landfill waste.
Nutrient Composition of Bio Compos (per dry weight basis)
Nutrient Typical
Range Role in Plant Growth
Nitrogen (N) 0.5 – 2.0% Leaf and shoot development
Phosphorus
(P₂O₅) 0.2 – 1.5% Root development, flowering, fruiting
Potassium (K₂O) 0.5 – 2.0% Overall vigour, disease resistance
Calcium (Ca) 1.0 – 3.0% Cell wall strength, root health
Magnesium (Mg) 0.2 – 0.5% Chlorophyll production
Sulfur (S) 0.2 – 0.4% Protein synthesis
Organic Carbon 15 – 25% Improves soil structure and fertility
C:N Ratio 15:1 to 25:1 indicates a balance of carbon to nitrogen
1. For Home Gardening / Kitchen Gardens
✅ Soil Preparation
Mix 1 part bio compost with 2–3 parts garden soil before planting.
Ideal for potting mixes, vegetable beds, and flower beds.
✅ Top Dressing
Apply 1–2 handfuls of compost around the base of each plant every 2–4
weeks.

2. For Vegetables
Add 0.5–1 kg of compost per plant during transplanting (e.g., tomato,
brinjal).
Repeat compost application every 30–45 days for better yield.
3. For Fruit Trees
Dig a circular trench around the drip line (not close to the trunk).
Apply 5–10 kg of compost per tree (annually or bi-annually).
Cover with soil and mulch; water well.
4. For Lawns and Landscaping
Spread a thin layer (0.5–1 cm) of compost over the grass surface.
Rake lightly and water thoroughly.
