Product Description

Benefits of Biochar in Gardening

Biochar is a carbon-rich material made by burning organic matter in a low-oxygen environment. It is an excellent soil amendment that improves soil health and plant growth.

Soil Improvement & Fertility

1. Enhances Soil Structure – Improves aeration, drainage, and root penetration.

2. Increases Water Retention – Absorbs and holds moisture, reducing the need for frequent watering.

3. Boosts Nutrient Retention – Acts like a sponge, holding nutrients and preventing leaching.

4. Supports Beneficial Microorganisms – Provides habitat for soil microbes that improve plant health.

5. Regulates Soil pH – Helps neutralize acidic or alkaline soils.

Pest & Disease Control

6. Suppresses Soil-Borne Diseases – Reduces fungal and bacterial infections in plant roots.

7. Deters Harmful Pests – Improves plant resistance against certain insects.

Sustainable & Eco-Friendly

8. Long-Lasting Effects – Remains in the soil for hundreds of years, continuously improving fertility.

9. Reduces Greenhouse Gases – Traps carbon in the soil, reducing CO₂ emissions.

10. Minimizes Chemical Fertilizer Use – Enhances soil naturally, reducing dependence on synthetic fertilizers.

Ingredients

1. Carbon (C) – The dominant component, making biochar stable in soil.

2. Minerals & Ash – Contains potassium (K), phosphorus (P), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), and trace elements.

3. Porous Structure – Acts like a sponge, holding water, nutrients, and beneficial microbes.

How to Use

How to Use Biochar in Gardening

Biochar is best used when properly activated and mixed into the soil. Here are the most effective ways to apply it:

1️⃣ Mix Biochar with Compost (Best Method)

 Why? Raw biochar can absorb nutrients, making them unavailable to plants at first.

Mix it with compost & charge it with beneficial microbes.

 How to use:

✅ Mix 10–20% biochar with compost.

✅ Let it sit for 2–4 weeks before applying to soil.

✅ Use 2–5 kg per 10 square meters of garden space.

2️⃣ Apply Directly to Soil (If Pre-Charged)

 If you don’t have compost, you can soak biochar in compost tea, worm leachate, or manure tea for 1–2 weeks before adding it.

 Application Rate:

✅ Light application: 5–10% biochar in the soil mix for flowers, vegetables, and small plants.

✅ Heavy application: Up to 20% for degraded or sandy soils.

3️⃣ Biochar in Potting Mix (For Containers)

 Mix 1 part biochar with 4 parts potting soil for potted plants.

 This helps retain moisture and nutrients while promoting root health.

4️⃣ Soil Drenching with Biochar Tea

 Soak 500g biochar in 10 liters of water for 24 hours.

 Use the liquid to water plants for added nutrients and microbial benefits.

5️⃣ Use for Lawn Care & Landscaping

 Lawn: Spread 500g per square meter, rake into the soil, and water well.

 Trees & Shrubs: Mix 2–5 kg per tree into the planting hole to boost root development.

Long-Term Benefits

Biochar remains in the soil for centuries, continuously improving soil fertility, moisture retention, and plant health!
